At Christmas time Lush has a lot of limited edition products, so let’s continue our beauty product reviews with Lush Ponche shower gel. Ponche is another Christmas limited edition product which is citrusy and sweet in the same time and will get you in the festive mood in no time. Lush’s description of this festive shower gel is:

Product / Quality:
The Ponche shower gel is packed in Lush’s regular clear bottle with black cap and it has black and quite minimalistic label which actually looks very nice. The actual shower gel has a lovely orange color that reminds of oranges and tangerines. Again, like most Lush shower gels, Ponche also comes in three bottle sizes: 3.3 fl. oz, 8.4 fl. oz and 16.9 fl. oz (100 g, 250 g and 500 g), so the smallest packaging is great for trying the product out if you haven’t tried it yet and the biggest is great to have by hand if you absolutely love the product.
Quality wise, the Lush Ponche shower gel lathers up pretty nicely especially if you use it with loofah or bath sponge, but the consistency is a bit thinner then the other Lush shower gels. Other than that, this is a very nice shower gel that makes the skin soft and silky.
Scent:
Ponche shower gel smells festive and fresh. It also smells citrusy like the Snow Globe soap only Ponche is more sweet and smells more of an orange then lemon and lime. Actually it is pretty interesting how the smell and the color of a product compliment each other. For example, Lush Ponche shower gel is orange and it does smell like sweet oranges or tangerines and in the end you can actually smell the sharpness of the tequila which doesn’t smell alcoholic at all, it just gives a different element to the smell. So it definitely has a scent that some people will love and others don’t.
Ponche also smells very festive and bright and it is quite fresh with a hint of sweetness, so it is a prefect scent for the lovers of fresh scents. It is a prefect refreshing shower gel to use in these gloomy winter mornings for a quick burst of freshness and wake-me-up. The smell also lingers on the skin for quite a few hours so you can have an occasional whiff of its festive smell throughout the day.
Price:
The Ponche shower gel from Lush is definitely not one of the cheapest shower gels out there, in fact it is one of the more expensive shower gels from Lush. It is priced $9.95 for 3.3 fl. oz, $19.95 for 8.8 fl. oz and $29.95 16.1 fl. oz for (£4.25 for 100 g, £8.50 for 250 g and £14.95 for 500 g in UK), but again it is a Christmas special so you can treat yourself to one bottle only at Christmas time. An extra tip to get a maximum use from your shower gel is to use it with loofah or a bath sponge, that way you will use less product and get more bubbles and your Ponche shower gel will last you longer. You can also find it on sale or like a special offer after Christmas so you definitely can save some money. Ponche is also available in couple of Christmas gift boxes like Happy Christmas and Party Time Goodies (US only) and Festive Cheer (UK only) and probably a few more. Every year the Christmas gift boxes are slightly different so these might not be available next year, but there are probably going to be new ones with Ponche.
Organic / Cruelty free:
Lush cosmetic uses natural and fresh ingredients with most of their products, but again this is a shower gel so it has a few chemical ingerdients along with the natural ones. These are the ingredients of Lush Ponche shower gel:

Again like we mentioned before, Lush fights against animal testing so this product is totally cruelty free so a bonus points for that.
Packaging:
The packaging of the Ponche shower gel and actually any Lush shower gel is quite minimalistic with black label and the unique Lush writing. Actually because of the mininalistic packaging the shower gel looks very special and fun. The small size of the shower gel actually makes it a wonderful gift and a great stocking filler. If you want to get it in a gift box along with some other Lush goodies, the Christmas gift boxes from Lush are also wonderfully wrapped. For example, this Ponche shower gel was actually a part from the Winter Wishes gift box that was purchased last year (it wasn’t available this year sadly) and the gift box itself was wrapped in brown paper with a huge white snowflake and a red cord and it looked amazing and quite festive.
All in all, the Ponche shower gel from Lush is a fresh and festive scent that will definitely get you in a happy and good mood. So treat yourself or a person you love with this bright and orange scented shower gel.
