Overcome the things that stop you from exercising

Overcome the things that stop you from exercising

Regular physical activity will make your body fit and beautiful and also it’s great for your health. So if we know how beneficial physical activity is, why don’t we exercise on a daily basis?

The truth is that we often have some excuses or reasons that stop us from exercising, whether is lack of time, injuries or self-confidence. Whatever your reason is, you have to overcome the things that stop you from exercising and walk the road to looking fit and good health.

Overcome the things that stop you from exercising

Thing that stops you from exercising: ‘I don’t have time to exercise’

Today’s lifestyle is dynamic and it’s really hard to find time for exercise. Use your creativity to make the most of every minute in the day and overcome the things that stop you from exercising.

If you don’t have time to do a complete training, have a few ten-minute walks throughout the day.

Wake up 30 minutes earlier twice a week to exercise. Once you get used to the early morning exercises, it will become your morning routine and you’ll want to exercise every day.

Park your car further away from where you need to go and walk. This will increase your physical activity, without slowing you down in doing your other commitments.

Change your habits. You don’t need to go to a coffee shop with your best friend. Instead go biking or go for a run in the park.

Thing that stops you from exercising: ‘I can’t afford an expensive equipment’

You don’t need to be a member of an elite gym or to have an expensive fitness equipment to be fit and active. Instead, there are many other alternatives.

Do strengthening exercises at home using things that lay around your house. Use inexpensive resistance bands or exercise ball. Fill some plastic bottles with water or sand and use them as weights.

Exercise while you watch TV. Look for video tutorials like aerobics, yoga, Tae Bo etc.

Don’t use the elevator and quit that habit. Climbing stairs is a great exercise, which will help you to burn a lot of calories.

Let the park be your gym. To stay in top shape it’s enough to go for a run or go biking in the park regularly.

Thing that stops you from exercising: ‘ I have no energy after the long day at work’

It is normal to have low energy after a long and stressful day at work, but if you include some physical activity in your daily schedule you might actually feel better. Exercise is the best thing you can do if you have low energy. Just drink a glass of freshly squeezed fruit juice and start exercising. It doesn’t have to be some complex exercises, you can do a bit of cardio exercises, aerobics or even yoga.

If you don’t have time to exercise after work, exercise in the morning. Get up 30 minutes early and exercise while watching the morning news. You’ll see that a bit of aerobics or cardio will wake you up and make you feel better. You can even do some easy exercises in bed.

You can also exercise while you take a break. When you have a break from your daily responsibilities, don’t lay on the couch for 30 minutes. Instead, lay down for 10 minutes and the next 20 minutes do some exercise or just go for a walk.

Thing that stops you from exercising: ‘Exercising is boring’

It’s normal to think that exercising is boring, if you repeat the same exercises each and every day, especially if you do it alone. But exercise doesn’t have to be boring. Don’t let boredom be one thing that stops you from exercising.

Change your exercises. You can choose different physical activities like walking, running, cycling, aerobics, etc. Choose different exercises for different muscle groups every time you do your workout.

Exercise together with your family, neighbors, friends or colleagues. That way you’ll be motivated, and exercising will become a real fun.

Go to different classes if possible. If you are interested, collect information about the different instructors and different exercise classes. Go to yoga classes, Tae Bo or something else, there are tons of classes. That way you’ll learn something new and exercise will become pleasurable.

Thing that stops you from exercising: ‘I’ve exercised before, I but gave up’

Perhaps the reason for your quitting is that you couldn’t see the results of exercising. But although you might not see the physical changes, exercise helps your body a lot, as it can reduce the risk of diabetes, heart disease etc. If you can’t see it from the outside, it doesn’t mean that your body doesn’t feel the results.

Start with lighter exercises and gradually strive to do more intensive workout, but do it only when you feel that your body is ready for it. You also need to set some realistic goals. Don’t say that you’ll do a one-hour workouts every day, because you will be disappointed if you can’t meet that ambitious goal. Set a modest and realistic goals. For example, exercise for 20 minutes three days a week and after some time you can increase the time.

Motivate yourself and constantly remind yourself why you exercise. If you want to exercise to lose weight, remind yourself of it every day. Also treat yourself to something small every time you reach your goal, that way you’ll feel rewarded for your efforts and you’ll be more motivated.

Let the excuses aside, overcome the things that stop you from exercising and begin to reshape your body today.
