Chlorine in the water reacts with chemicals in the hair dye and breaks them down and that’s why the color fades. Why you need to be careful not to spend too much time swimming into the pool. But the best thing to do is to tie your hair into a bun and try not to wet it too much (or if you’re brave enough, wear a swimming cap). Also, there are some lotions and oils that protect your hair and skin from the chlorine so you can also try them out.
