Homemade teeth whitening solutions
Discolored teeth can have an impact on your smile – and on your confidence. Many things can cause discoloration and stains on the teeth, including drinking coffee and wine or smoking cigarettes. Although there are many whitening products, and even dental procedures that remove stains on the teeth, you can actually whiten your teeth at home.
Many people know that baking soda can remove stains from teeth. But you have to mix baking soda with some other ingredients to enhance the cleaning and whitening effect.
Here are some ideas for homemade toothpastes, which will provide you with more white and bright smile.
Mint mix
Mix 5 teaspoons of baking soda with 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, 8 drops peppermint oil and ½ teaspoon salt. Keep the mixture in a bottle and use it as a natural toothpaste.
Strong whitening toothpaste
To whiten the coffee stains on your teeth, mix 2 teaspoons of baking soda with enough hydrogen peroxide so you will get the consistency of paste. Use this strong bleaching mixture twice a week to get rid of stains on your teeth from coffee and other causes of discoloration.
Vodka and lemonade
Mix 2 teaspoons baking soda, 1 teaspoon vodka, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, ½ teaspoon salt and 5 drops of peppermint oil. Store the mixture in airtight container and use the paste to remove stains and whiten your teeth. (Of course, this paste is for adults only.)
WARNING!: Do not swallow any of the pastes described.
