Your feet need love too and it’s important to keep the skin of your feet smooth and nourished. The fastest and most effective way is to exfoliate your feet at home with homemade foot scrubs and to pamper them with a relaxing homemade foot soak.

Refreshing homemade foot scrub with mint

In a small jar, mix 5 tablespoons of sugar, 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and 19 drops of peppermint oil. Stir well to mix the ingredients. Apply the homemade foot scrub on your feet and massage them with circular movements for 1-2 minutes. If you can, leave the mixture for 10 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. You can make a larger amount of this cooling DIY foot scrub with mint and store it in a cold and dry place up to 3 months. Make sure that you stir the sugar well before using this homemade foot scrub.

DIY homemade foot soak with lemon and honey

In a small bowl, grate the zest of one lemon, cut it in half and a squeeze the juice of 1/2 lemon (reserve the other half). Add 2 tablespoons of honey and mix well. Fill a tub with warm water (have a bowl with warm water nearby for rinsing), add the lemon and honey mixture in it and stir slightly. Soak your feet in this homemade foot soak for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, take the other lemon half and dip it in sugar of baking soda. Rub your heels with the lemon for 1-2 minutes and use a foot brush or pumice stone to get rid of the dry skin. Soak your feet for 2-3 minutes more and rinse them with warm water. Dry your feet. If you want to make your feet extra soft, massage them with your favorite oil (coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil…), put a cotton socks on and go to bed. The next day your feet will be smooth and soft.

DIY homemade foot soak salt with orange and vanilla 

Grate the zest of 3 oranges and place it in a bowl. Add 1/2 of coarse sea salt and mix well. In a meantime take 1 vanilla pod and split it in half. Place the vanilla pod in a clean jar and add the orange sea salt. Close the jar with a tight lid and shake it well. Store the mixture in a cool and dry place and shake it from time to time. To make a foot soak, fill a tub with warm water and add 2-3 tablespoons of the homemade foot soak salt with orange and vanilla. Shake the jar well before using the homemade foot soak salt.

DIY homemade foot scrub with coconut oil

In a small bowl mix 5 tablespoons of coconut oil and 5 tablespoons of ground almonds. Mix well and apply the mixture onto your feet. Massage your feet with circular movements for 2-3 minutes and if you can leave the mixture for 10 minutes. Wipe the mixture off your feet with paper towel and put a cotton sock on. The next day your feet will be soft and moisturized.

DIY homemade foot soak with milk and honey 

Milk has been used in ancient times for making the skin silky soft and smooth, so why not making a luxurious homemade foot soak with it. In a tub, add one cup of whole milk and fill the tub with warm water. Add 5 tablespoons of honey and mix well. Soak your feet into this mixture for 10-20 minutes. After that rinse your feet with warm water and dry them with a towel.

Grate the zest of 2 limes and place it in a bowl. Add 5 drops of peppermint oil, 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, 3 tablespoons of sugar and mix well. Apply the mixture on your feet and massage them with circular movements for 2-3 minutes. If you can, levae the mixture on your feet for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with warm water, and pat dry your feet with a towel.

DIY homemade relaxing mint and lavender foot soak

In a tub in which you’ll soak your feet, add 2-3 cups of hot boiling water, throw 3 teabags of mint tea and leave it for 5-10 minutes. After that add /2 cup of cold water to cool the tea slightly and fill the tub with warm water. You can also remove the teabags, or you can leave them in. Add 5-10 drops of lavender oil or if you don’t have lavender oil, you can use 1-2 tablespoons of dried lavender. Soak your feet in this homemade relaxing mint and lavender foot soak water for 10-20 minutes. After that, rinse your feet slightly with warm water and dry them. It’s great to do this foot soak before bed because the lavender and mint will make you feel calm and relaxed and your feet will feel warm and cozy after soaking.
